Penny Black Saturday Challenge white on white

okay, I have to apologize for the crappy pic. I have no natural light anymore.... when I leave for work its dark and when I get home its dark.. and well, I suck at picture taking. Trust me, this looks better in real life.. not tons better, but it is better. The sentiment and panel were covered with some some crystal paint stuff and some of the glitter flakes look like dirt spots,,, and they arent! Also my lil mousey is dimensional...

That being said... the challenge this week at Penny Black Saturday Challenge was to use all white everything except coloring the image. I kept mine simple.

Neenah textured cardstock base
Random cardstock embossed panel (from a swap)
Penny Black image colored with prismacolor pencils
Glaze pen and the same paint on snowflake
Misc ribbon

high Hopes Challenge 50 kids

I decided I could color my Tidy up Tilly image I had stamped when I got this stamp which I won from a previous High Hopes Challenge... so not to be kept down by lack of genuine mojo I faked it and made this little card and I like it! this challenge was to do a card with a kid image or inspired by kids etc...

i have lost my mojo

the last two or three things I have made are pure rubblish. everything I try to put together looks STOOOPID and I can't match paper to cardstock to embellies to ribbon.. it all comes out looking pathetic. so, no challenge stuff from me for awhile.... i will only make what i feel like instead of trying to do something for all my fave challenges...

and in other news, we now have to take another day off per month without pay.. in addition to the ten percent wage reduction we got hit with a couple months ago...

plus more work and less people.

oh and all my pics at the pug party were also crap. crap crap crap. not one decent pic.

so, instead of a cute pic of Holly and Izzy this year- here's a cute one I took of Holly last year when we were trying on costumes. Hard to not smile when you see that face!

I am taking the pugs to the Pugoween Party. Izzy is going as snow white again and Holly is going as a piggy. Holly's cute bat costume was ruined last year when a fellow pug, after I had it off of her and by my purse, decided it needed to be peed on. Luckily he got just the costume and not my purse. So bye-bye Bat costume. This was Izzy last year. New pics, of course, will follow!

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge 2

I really love this challenge because it limits embellishments. It's not that I hate embellishments, but sometimes I think they overpower a card and take away from the image... and those lil things are not cheap! Yeah I know you can get them reasonable and make your own ,but sometimes you just want to enjoy the image and the paper, kwim? Anyway. The challenge at Mo's Digital Pencil was to do something inspired by fall... colors, scene, etc.

I made this for my dear friend Macrina...we used to exchange cards in the monastery and I still have several she gave me and she would write such dear things in them.. one of my fave memories was when I was going to Bethany for a "prayer day" often she would leave a card or poem in my mailbox and I would always check it before I left.. then would enjoy reading it for my time away....even when I didn't always want to hear it. I can still hear her say "Oh Julianne" (my Sister name) in exasperation when I was off on a tangent or in a snarky mood.,,, (ok ok its snarfy) and here all along I thought you had created snarky.... :)

anyway...

We both love to read and this reminded me of her when I first saw this image! it will be winging its way to you soon!

Deets:
colored with markers of all kinds and distress inks
Basic Grey Indian Summer dsp

This card is so not my style usually. Other than the fact that I love the papers, I love the image and I like making cards... the rest was just nothing but a struggle- ever have days/cards like that? Like no matter what you can't get things to cooperate? I will not even go into all that now.. but trust me it was NOT FUN!! My handmade flowers look better IRL and my crappy light in this room and older camera make getting a decent pic next to impossible.. but yeah. It's done.

Papers are from bittersweet collection by Basic Grey (one of my all time forever fave collections)
