Halloween Banners Shopping Our Stash Challenge 73

This week at Shopping Our Stash we have a challenge near and dear to my heart- in BOTH ways you can use this challenge- TRICK OR TREAT!  You can go the Halloween/spooky/cute spooky route OR you can do the TREAT route and go with  candy, pies/cakes, cupcakes, desserts, coffees, wine, etc.  So hopefully that will allow everyone to play along even if you don't do Halloween!

I have been busy making different Halloween stuff, and today I am sharing the banners I have made.

I used the Spellbinders Pennant shapes and a thinner chipboard. It was not fun cutting them- but I prevailed.

It's pretty self-explanatory:
I chose to paint the edges black on both sides.  I used regular Black acrylic paint. If I would have had black distress stain, it would have worked too.

Then I adhered paper, (yes, really) and decorated.  Punched holes in the corners with my crop-o-dile and used thin ribbon.  I'll wait while you write those steps down.  No need to rush.  Hahaha

Since I made three banners, they all sorta run together. I made them reversible, so that they had a NON Halloween side.  Double duty.   Two were given to friends and the third I am hanging somewhere at work.  Not sure where.

I got most of the decorations from the dollar store and adhered with hot glue and super glue.  Papers are a mix of Recollections, Basic Grey, and Bo Bunny.  Ribbons and bling from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you will join us at Shopping Our Stash this week!

bts, my top tip for doing black edges FAST with no drying time... ya know those big fat sharpie markers?! YEAH!!! and i promise when you are done, you would never know they weren't painted or just black chip to begin with! hehehehe.)

I must second Lauren - Sharpies! Those things will cover pretty much anything. They aren't 'fun' though. But they do smell funny...is that enough? Hmmm.
ANYHOW, I love the fun & funky mix of everything Halloweeny - especially that big-a** spider. I would jump every time seeing that!

As if the banners with the great paper weren't enough, you go and add spiders, bats, and lots of other spooky goodies! Fabulous!!! Great idea to decorate both sides for two occasions!!
