Vampire Altered Composition Book

I want to start doing some art journaling and decided to get one started. So I started with the cover!  I used this fabulous vampire image available at Mo's Digital Pencil.  I love it.  It reminds me of Jean Claude from the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton.  I printed him off nice and big and colored with copics. I don't color very well with copics in general, and the blacks and reds are worse. But I have fun, and that's what matters. Right?

Anyway, after I colored him, I decided he would look good standing under a lamp post - so I cut the one from my trusty Recollections 12x12 pad and embossed the black parts with Ranger distress ink and black EP.   Then I glued it to the now cut apart piece of paper.  I used a scrolly stamp for the bottom, and  embossed with more black EP.  The top of paper I used a blood drip stamp with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink and the same Distress EP.    The sentiment I stamped with my ancient tiny alpha blocks and then distressed and added some texture to the paper with more inks/EP.  I crumpled the whole paper and added more ink.  Black Soot Distress Ink to be exact.  I then adhered Jean Claude and added the sentiment and mod-podged the paper to the book and then sealed it all.  At the end I added some bling and Tim Holtz texture tape- with more ink.  The back is the same color with bats on the paper.

This is for the Haunted Design House Macabre Monday Challenge- anything vampire.

I have always wanted to say "Come Hither!" but probably NOT to a vampire. Beware though it is probably the PERFECT title for your art journal as time will just disappear.
Good Fun!

This is awesome! He has that scary handsome thing going and I can just hear him saying this to lure in his prey! Another fantastic creation!
I'm with you on the copics! Fun to play with but I stink at shading!!
