Anything But a Card Challenge 7: By the Sea or Inspiration Photo

Hello everyone! I seriously cannot believe we are in December now!  Unreal.  November flew by- seemed like day it was Halloween and then wham- into November. Oh well- take a moment to unwind by the sea!  You can use anything sea-related - colors, creatures, water, etc or let the inspiration picture lead the way!  Today I have my mini album to share with you made for the challenge at Anything But a Card!

I recently acquired a supply of the formica countertop samples- small ones- smaller than an ATC.  I decided that they would make  fun and compact mini-album!

I gesso'ed them first, then starting using bits of pieces from my stash- primarily some Graphique 45 papers I have had for ages.  I then decided to add quotes to one side- used the G45 papers and bits from old calendars and the like.  I took a flourish made of grunge board and made a hinge for holding it together and died the grunge board with alcohol inks.  I added some vintage lace and seam binding ribbon as well, along with a seashell.  I  used random quotes I liked that were sea related.  Once I got going, it went pretty quickly!  If you hold it horizontally and flip thru, you see all the quotes with the same orientation. Hold it vertically, and you get the bathing beauty images.  Neat, huh?  I then colored the edges with a gold marker.
I hope you can find time to join us at Anything But a Card for this challenge!

How clever is this? I love that you found a way to upcycle those samples - and they must be super-sturdy. Too cool :)

I love how you set this up like a 'flip book' and both the quotes and images are wonderful!
