Left of Center Challenge 3: LOC theme and/or Ribbon/Twine

Hello!  TGIF! I am soooo glad it's Friday- it's been one really long week!  I am so thrilled that the challenge  at Left of Center Creative Challenges this fortnight is being sponsored by Rick St. Dennis.  I love his art, and he always has such unique and different images.  We were lucky enough to be given an image to work with, and I scooped up Sirena.  I love mermaids, and she is fantastic!

I covered a composition book I picked up at Michael's for fifty cents.  I made the background on glossy cardstock with alcohol inks from Ranger.  I colored Sirena with copics, added the usual touches with spica glitter pens, and adhered it to the background. I used sookwang tape to adhere the panel to the notebook, and since it was a complimentary color, I didn't have to cover the entire front.  I added some braided trim.  The sentiment I have had in my stash for awhile now, and I found a scrap of paper I had used the shaving cream background technique on... and it blends well with the rest of the elements.

Hope you can stop by the the challenge page and see what the rest of the DT has created!  We would love to have you join us!
