The other day while perusing blogs, I found this post by a super-talented crafter named Claudine who was making postcards instead of cards/tags for a change of pace. I had an a-ha moment- and realized that even though I love making things and using all sorts of images- a lot of the stuff is not really suitable for cards for most people I know and I have a ton of tags and cards everywhere that I need to liberate, so I realized I could create to my heart's content if I made something like postcards or ....? I know it sounds silly, but for some reason I was feeling trapped into producing things for a reason or occasion. Weird, right? But it's like I now have "permission" to just make stuff because I enjoy it. Sometimes I think I get so wrapped up in wanting to have something to show for my time and money that I forget the sheer joy of creating for creativity's sake... to just relax and have fun.
this is the first I have made of what I am calling my postcard or future fun album. I have ton of card stock waiting to be used, so I cut about a dozen or more sheets into strips of 6.25 by 4.25 and they are "backs" to my card-fronts, post cards, pages, etc. I scored a line to serve as a possible attachment section if I decided to bind or put rings thru for mini albums or whatever.... or I can simply cut it off if I decide to use it on a traditional card. The other sections from that strip where just big enough to use for top note die cuts that I use on the inside of my cards.
I somehow printed what seems to be a zillion of this Dilly Beans image and found this one just staring at me... and since the challenge at Dilly Beans Stamps is dots, I used polka dot paper and added little dots around the image. The flowers were from the drop off./take away art place locally, and the sentiment I had printed already. I colored with copics and glitter pens.
Thanks for stopping by!
