Anything But a Card Challenge: STEAMPUNK!!

Oh I am so excited about this challenge at Anything But a Card- steampunk!  I love steampunk!  I love the rich colors, textures, outfits, etc.  I stretched myself on this one and tried some new techniques- and I enjoyed it immensely.

I used a canvas board I picked up at Dollarama.  I put a layer of gesso and let it dry, then some various acrylic paints in teal and gold.  Then I used Deco Art Fierro in Iron Brown to create the texture.  I may have used some modeling paste first over the paint, I can't remember!  Then I went back and dry brushed some terra cotta colored acrylic paint and a few dabs of the teal I had used originally.  It has the coolest rusty texture in person!

The image I cut from Graphique 45 paper and adhered it with Glue and Seal by Ranger.  I punched a few butterflies from the scraps for good measure, and added some trinkets I picked up at Michaels on sale for .66 a pack along with a couple of watch hands and a charm that says ARTFUL from my Tim Holtz stash.  Now I need to find a frame and mount it.

Be sure to stop over at Anything But a Card and see the rest of the DT creations, and then join in with us!
