Secret Garden name plates for Anything But a Card

At Anything But a Card, the current challenge is called "hit the books"- you can take that in any direction- alter a book, use a book page, journal, something based on a book, etc.  I based my project on The Secret Garden book, and of course I had to use the Graphic 45 papers!  At my work, myself and the other two ladies in my department do not have a name plate for our desk/office.  I decided it was time I made some!

I used some plaques I found at WalMart- gave them a layer of gesso and then painted the back and sides with acrylic paint, added some Inka Gold here and there, used some chipboard letters I also painted black. Wild Orchid flowers, some border punched of cardstock,  and some ribbon finished them off.  Now I can take a moment at work and imagine myself in a tranquil secret garden!

Thanks for stopping by!

What a brilliant idea. So pretty and much nicer that anything they could provide "officially". Wish I worked in your office! Lovely to have you back at Anything But A Card this time x

Oh how lovely these are Carla and what a terrific thing to do for your colleagues. Each time they see their plaque I am sure they will smile.
